Crafted with passion, born from nature
Welcome to Bob's Bowls, where every piece tells a story. Discover the journey of wood transformed, from its humble origins to unique creations, reflecting the dedication of a craftsman who finds beauty in the natural world. Fully hand crafted in my own workshop in Luton, United Kingdom.

From school days to cherished craft
My journey with wood began in the school woodshop, a sanctuary where creativity flowed freely. It’s always been a profound joy, this connection with timber. Now, as retirement approaches, the workshop beckons more than ever. There’s a special pleasure in looking at a random piece of wood and envisioning the beauty waiting to be revealed within. It’s a passion that has only deepened with time, bringing a quiet satisfaction to every turn.

Transforming 'waste' into wonder
"I make firewood," I often joke. Sometimes, yes, a piece of wood does end up on the fire. But the true magic happens when you can salvage a piece that others deem 'waste wood' or destined for the burner. It’s a beautiful thing, transforming it into something precious. It never ceases to amaze me how uniquely each piece reveals itself, boasting its own character, its own story etched in its grain. Each Bob's Bowl is truly one-of-a-kind, a fruit of the earth with its own natural beauty, fully hand crafted.

More than just a bowl, it's an experience
My aim is for every Bob’s Bowl to be more than just an item; I want it to be a piece of art, or a beautifully useable product that inspires thought. It might seem odd, but people instinctively want to pick them up, to feel the wood's texture. My wife always picks them up and smells them, appreciating the scent of the wood and the natural wax and oils I use to protect each piece. But perhaps the best part? Knowing that nobody else in the world has one exactly the same. We don't do perfection; wood is unique, has its own charm and mesmerising grain patterns.
"Bringing a Bob's Bowl into my home was like welcoming a piece of natural art. The craftsmanship is evident, and knowing it's truly unique makes it even more special."
